Rays the Dead - Plot Outline

Rays the Dead – Plot Outline

The main character, Raheem Hall plays a young man on a quest to save his last possession, his daughter from the inevitable zombie apocalypse brought on by the intensified radiation of the sun.

The sequence starts with a tired Raheem, in the corner of the room who receives a phone call from an unknown number. Upon answering this he finds that his daughter has been taken captive, by who, he is unsure. To Raheem’s disbelief the phone line breaks. It seems all to coincidental that as the phone hangs up the first zombie (Played by Will Martin) breaks into Raheem’s fortress of solitude causing panic and havoc.

Both actors then engage in a short fight sequence resulting in the loss of the zombie’s hand. A chase scene then occurs, down a flight of stairs, through a door and into a carpark where Raheem appears to stumble towards his doom. As the zombie draws near it appears that Raheem’s life may be drawing to an end but a last ditch effort to fight allows him to live another day, to continue on the quest to save his daughter.

180 degree rule

Match on action is a component of seamless editing where a point of action (like handing something to someone) is shot from different angles cut at the point of action creating a match.

You also have to make sure of eye line match - which is making sure the eyes of both characters from a shot reverse shot match in terms of locations on the screen.

Media Questionnaire Summary

Upon completing my questionnaire I found many contrasting ideas between my research participants. A question I posed was “Women tend to prefer Rom Coms as opposed to thrillers, agree or disagree?” 100% of RP’s agreed with the statement, this verified a popular schema.
Question one asked RP’s what their favourite genre of film was out of Horror, Thriller and Romantic comedies. No participants selected Rom Com’s , the majority leant towards the thriller genre.

Question seven showed that 70% of participants preferred to watch horro films in 3D and question eight found that 100% of participants enjoyed to be scared while watching thriller films. My research showed that on the whole females enjoy Rom Com’s more than male participants whereas the males favourite genre was Horror.
